Hello Gentlemen and others',

 

I've just got back from my offshore tour and find that the 'Fastnet' event is very shortly upon us. We, BCCMBC, are holding it as planned on Saturday 22nd May. The event will consist of a series of thirty minute ' long distance' races round a simple course, with the number of laps being counted, recorded, and with additions or deductions for handicap, age, etc being calculated, to find the eventual winner.

 

Ali Law has already managed to 'recruit' some entries, possibly eight, from the newly affiliated Ayr Bay Model Yacht Club, so I hope the long standing clubs will be supportive of this new blood, and send their entries and preferred frequencies to me at the above address early so that I can finalise the planning of the event and weed out any 'clashes'.  Team entries are welcome for maximum fun.   Two skippers per team works quite well.   The RRS will apply.

 

I would hope to have the briefing at 10:00hrs with the first leg commencing at or soonest after 10:15hrs. There will be plenty time between legs for refreshments in the Restaurant/Cafe` which we would encourage the attendees to use. We will have a lunch break of 45 minutes at a suitable time. Hopefully we will finish the last leg of the event at or soon after 15:30hrs, with the final debrief before 16:00hrs. This is to be a fun day and all times are, within reason, flexible.

 

Please remember that any age of radio yacht will be catered for, even those not normally in serious competition.
